Food

By Adge747 Parker

One of the themes for this week is your favorite foods, I do not have one food as a favorite, but several, they are all in the healthy category. One of the ones I like the taste of is Mango recently hailed as a 'super food', I'm not sure why scientists have to put a label on everything, but then again all natural organic food should be called 'super' as they each have their function in the human diet. You can live quite well without some of them, we cannot eat all the food we should to give us optimum nutrition, however if you are managing without any of them how long will it be before you find there is a very high price to pay. One man tried it and found that in one week his health was in decline and this was someone who prior to embarking on this experiment had been on a very healthy diet.
So back to the foods I like, Sharon fruit, I like this one because you don't have to peel it, banana, orange, red grapes, beetroot, radish, broccoli, brussel sprouts. These are just a few of the fruits and veg I like and eat on a regular basis. There are quite a few more but this would just become a list! I include as many different types of fruit and veg I can as variety is the spice of life. I try to get as many of the brightly colored foods as I can, they are the best at fighting the deadly seven.
Of course if you aren't eating a healthy organic diet, maybe you don't like the taste, then you should look at taking food supplements.

It looks a bit like a small orange with a big leaf at the top, except that you can eat the skin. You might know it as Persimmon. I like it for it's taste, some say it tastes like apricot, loads of images here. Is grown in Israel.

It seem that eating healthy has been a great part of the theme this week, Adrian. Hopefully we'll keep bringing it back.
Thank you for sharing.
Best wishes.

I love mango as well as several others you have mentioned. I didn't know what Sharon Fruit was...and although certainly I've seen persimmon, I've not tried it. Maybe I should.

I like the taste of Sharon Fruit, can't describe it as it seems to have a taste all of it's own.

Are you sure it's not sharing fruit which is healthy for others too.

Sounds like a good idea, you might get to try a fruit you haven't eaten before, and if you don't like it then your friend can eat it.
