Medication
By Adge747 Parker of Healthy Answers
Do you take prescribe medication? If you do you may be interested in a few facts that have recently come to light. They do not reverse illnesses and make you whole again, and once you start on a regime of them if is a downhill race to the final curtain! As invariably the one you start with will have adverse side effects that need another drug to cover it up and so on. The average senior typically fills over 31 prescriptions every year, and even children, between the ages of 0-18, are taking an average of close to 4 prescriptions annually. Despite all this the average person does not enjoy the stellar health that the pharmaceutical companies promised you would have! Ten years ago, Professor Bruce Pomerance of the University of Toronto concluded that properly prescribed and correctly taken pharmaceutical drugs were the fourth leading cause of death in the US. More recently, Johns Hopkins Medical School refined this research and discovered that medical errors and prescription drugs together may actually be the LEADING cause of death. There are around 700,000 visits to emergency rooms annually as a result of adverse medication reaction. Legal drug are the cause of some 106,000 deaths a year in the US alone! Compared to illegal drugs 10,000, surely this makes them a candidate for banning? A few drugs along with their interactions are classified as dangerous. · Ibuprofen can cause bleeding ulcers when taken with prescription painkillers. · Combining ginkgo biloba with blood-thinning drugs like aspirin or warfarin can lead to severe bleeding. Guess which one is made out to be the guilty party! · The antibiotic erythromycin can lead to a toxic reaction when combined with certain cholesterol-lowering drugs, potentially leading to kidney failure. Most of these reactions are discovered by accident and much to late—or not even be discovered at all because it can’t be the medication your’re taking that is causing the problems can it! The desire to solve problems by taking drugs is a product of our culture, perpetuated by everyone, from drug manufacturers, to doctors, to government health officials, and yes even you. We teach our children at an early age the response to a pain is to take a pill, then of course as they grow into adolescence the answer to pain is a pill and as an adult this continues. Please take a look at the alternatives and know that you can take control of your health and without using medication. After all you are the person responsible for your health so take the responsibility for it today and live the rest of your life in the state of good health your were intended to. My grandfather told me “it is better to prevent a disease than to try and cure it”.
Nutritional products in th form of Whole Food Supplements have helped many people with health issues when mainstream medication has said they can do no more. www.healthyanswers.co.uk
