Statins
By Adge747 Parker of Healthy Answers
Statins are used and very highly recommended for keeping your cholesterol down! They reduce the cholesterol produced by the liver, and by doing this supposedly the risk of heart disease is lowered. Who recommends them? The very people you trust to look after your health. Do they do the job? Well yes, with some reservations they seem to be good at it, however the dark side is that for every one who avoids a heart attack, two or more people suffer kidney damage, liver damage, cataracts and muscle weakness. Of course you aren't informed about these dangers when you are told you need to take statins. Seems a strange thing to do when you need cholesterol in your blood and the majority of it is made in the liver, to make ostrogen, the female calming hormone, that is also made in males, and acts to stabilise mood. We are continually told to cut down on cigarettes, fats and to reduce stress as they are the main reasons for heart attacks, whilst these certainly aren't good for your health is a drug that causes more problems than it solves the answer? I haven't seen any reports in the press regarding the British Medical Journals findings about the diseases statins cause, instead I hear that everyone should be taking them! Certainly if you are aged 50 or more, in fact some "health commentators" believe they are so good they should be added to the water supply! So our legal drug pushers want us all to benefit from this wonder drug what they conveniently forget the side effects and how many people they kill annually. Again this begs the question which is more important profits or your health? A natural way to keep cholesterol down is by making sure your diet has ample supplies of vitamin C and vitamin E, this will mean that you need to supplement as you cannot eat sufficient quantities of food. Patrick Holford, a well known nutritional adviser and writer of several health books, recommends that you see a nutritionist and have your blood lipid levels measured. Take at least 400 mg of vitamin E and 2 grams of vitamin C. If you have high cholesterol or triglycerides take Omega 3 Plus. If you have high lipoprotein A, take at least 5 grams of vitamin C and 3 grams of lysine. For high blood pressure take Cal-Mag. Then do all you can to improve your diet and lifestyle.
